Information and communication technology is traditionally associated with men nearly all over the world. In 2018 only 17.2 percent of women worked in the ICT sector in the EU. In Austria, the number is even lower at 15.6 percent.  for this reason, the Municipality of MA57 focused on this issue and designed projects to address the problem. In line with Oxus’s focus on empowering Afghan women during the same year, it prepared media reports in the Persian language on opportunities in the ICT sector for Afghan women.
