Europe-based NGOs are worried about the forceful deportation of Afghan asylum seekers. Organizations including those advocating for the refugees’ rights demanded the EU not to extend the Joint Way Forward agreement with the Afghan government. the agreement signed on the sideline of the Brussels summit aimed at the deportation of asylum seekers back to Afghanistan in exchange for aid from the member states. The declaration drafted by the participants emphasizes that the current security situation in the country is unstable and the EU deportation of the Afghans goes against international conventions.
